Telehealth in Colorado
Compassionate, Steady Support for Adults & Couples Throughout Colorado
I provide online therapy (telehealth) for adults and couples located anywhere in Colorado. Whether you're in Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, a mountain community, or a rural area, therapy is available to you without the need to commute.
Many people reach out for therapy because they feel overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in familiar patterns, or unsure how to move forward. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship stress, ADHD, or emotional overwhelm, you don't have to sort through it alone.
I'm David Rothman, LPC, and for the past six years I've offered secure telehealth therapy throughout Colorado. My approach is attachment-based, emotionally focused, trauma-informed, and psychodynamic — meaning we take the time to understand what you're carrying, why it makes sense, and how to support lasting change at a pace that feels manageable.

Frequently Asked Questions About Telehealth Therapy in Colorado
Do I have to be a Colorado resident, or just physically located here during sessions? You need to be physically located in Colorado at the time of each session — this is a licensing requirement, not a residency one. If you split time between Colorado and another state, we can typically still meet whenever you're physically here.
What platform do you use for sessions, and is it secure?Sessions take place through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform designed specifically for telehealth counseling. You'll receive a private link before each session — no special software or account needed on your end beyond a stable internet connection.
What happens if my internet or video connection drops during a session? This happens occasionally, and it's not a problem — we simply reconnect and pick back up where we left off. If a connection issue continues, we can switch to a phone call to finish the session if needed.
Can I do telehealth therapy from anywhere in my house, or does it need to be a dedicated space? You don't need a dedicated office — just a private space where you won't be interrupted or overheard. A bedroom, a parked car, or a quiet corner all work, as long as you can speak freely.
Does insurance cover telehealth sessions the same way it covers in-person therapy? In most cases, yes — telehealth is typically covered at the same rate as in-person sessions, though this depends on your specific plan. I work with several insurance platforms (Alma, Headway, SonderMind, Rula, Grow Therapy) that can help you check your exact benefits before we begin. Learn more about insurance and payment options.
Is telehealth actually as effective as sitting in an office together?Yes, for most concerns. Research consistently shows telehealth therapy is comparably effective to in-person therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship concerns. What matters most is the quality of the working relationship, not the physical room.
